Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book an appointment?
Send an email to miserychicktattoo@gmail.com or submit a message here!
please include :
your Idea (duh.)
Placement
Approximate size in inches
black&Gray or color
budget if any
reference photos if any

Please only send ONE email!
Tattooers do not sit in front of computers all day. we're gloved up touching body fluids, blood, and yucky stuff. Emails are typically answered on a first-come-first-served basis and we get backed up sometimes. please be patient! if you send me multiple emails. your entire request goes to the end of the line.

Do I need to put down a deposit?
yup! Deposits are non-refundable and are put toward the final price of your tattoo.

What are your prices?
my minimum for any tattoo is $200. For all work up to six inches, I like to flat-rate. So pricing depends on a few factors like size, placement, b&g vs, color, etc. for all work larger than six inches or in the more labor-intensive areas of the body (torso, chest, ribs, etc) I charge hourly. that rate is $200 per hour.

Is there anything you won't tattoo?
i absolutely will not tattoo any sort of racist, sexist, transphobic, homophobic subject matter, words, or symbols (and if that's a problem for you, get fucked). aside from that, i do not tattoo the face or neck, and i am *very* selective about the projects i accept for the ribs. inversely, i
love tattooing hands and could do a calf in my sleep.

Can I bring a friend?
sorry, but no. our studio can only accommodate artist + client in the shop. if you wanna bring a friend, make them book a tattoo too!

What if I need to bail? What's your cancellation policy?
if you need to reschedule your appointment, you may do so once and your deposit will be held/moved to a new date so long as you give me at least 48-hours notice. If you need to reschedule more than once, give me less than 48-hours notice, or no-show, the deposit is forfeited and you'll need to put down another to re-book. The only exception is COVID/illness(please do not come to get tattooed if you don't feel well!).

Help! I spaced out while you were explaining aftercare. How do I heal this thing?

I prefer to bandage and heal my tattoos the old school way:
Leave bandage on for 2 to 4-ish hours
When you remove said bandage, clean the tattoo with a gentle non-scented antibacterial soap like Dial. Steer clear of any heavily fragranced soaps (no bath & body works, please!).
Let the tattoo air dry or very gently pat dry with a paper towel. Do not use fabric towels as they can harbor bacteria..
Cover the tattoo with a THIN, pea-sized layer of Aquaphor. Continue to clean the tattoo and apply the Aquaphor twice a day for two weeks.
Do not submerge the tattoo underwater (no bath, no pool, no ocean…showers are fine).
Keep the tattoo out of direct sunlight, and wear loose-fitting clothing around the area.
The tattoo is going to feel sore, have some redness around it, maybe bleed a little, scab, peel, and generally look a bit gnarly for the first couple weeks of healing. You might experience some bruising around it as well (this is due to my stretching and pulling the skin during the process). This is all normal! Do not pick at any scabs, do not over-clean it or douse it in Aquaphor, do not ever put anything like Neosporin on it. Do not re-bandage it.
Trust the healing process! A tattoo is basically a really pretty looking open wound. Keep it clean, keep it aired out, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out!

What if I need a touchup?
My touch-up policy is that I do them free for three months once the tattoo is fully healed. If you notice anything needs a wee touchup just let me know! If you’re not sure, I’m always happy to take a look and help decide.
